Compassion at work in Kenya.

Showing Compassion in Kenya

Kenya, an Eastern African country that touches the Indian Ocean, encompasses savannas, lake lands, mountain highlands and the dramatic Great Rift Valley. Kenya is home to Masai tribes, wild safaris and sweeping landscapes. It is also a land of droughts and famines. More than 60 languages are spoken in Kenya and there are more than 40 ethnic groups. Almost everyone speaks more than one African language. Compassion has been partnering with local partners in Kenya since1980. Currently more than 133,000 children are benefiting from Compassion’s whole-child development program.
