Compassion at work in Ecuador.

Showing Compassion in Ecuador

Because of Ecuador’s position on the Equator, from which it derives its name, in the 18th century it was the launch point for the first scientific expedition to measure the circumference of the Earth. Compassion has been partnering with local churches in Ecuador since 1974.  Ecuador has a proud history extending back to the Incan empire. It is also a country still facing poverty, which has resulted in broken families and limited education opportunities. Currently, more than 91,000 children are benefiting from Compassion’s whole-child development programming.
